The Owner:
Umbria has a pastoral charm that I love and discovered when I came to live here for a year when I was 17. The Umbrian people offer an incredible warmth to visitors with their festivals, music, dance and food. The people and the language are truly romantic and live in a way that inspired me to make Sismano my adopted home. The walks and hikes between the hillside villages offer expansive views of rolling countryside and snow capped mountains beyond. As a gardener, I particularly love the sight of land worked in all seasons, from vineyards and olive groves to fields of sunflowers.
Within easy driving distance you will uncover many towns and cities filled with ancient, medieval and renaissance art of all forms. Coming home at the end of an exciting day trip brings you back to a very local Italian region where the bars, shops and restaurants reflect the simplicity and hospitality of Umbria.
